Submission guidelines

  1. We accept only full paper submissions. Extended abstracts will not be entertained.
  2. Submissions can utilize the format here or any equivalent format used in an INFORMS journal. Submissions are limited to 30 pages excluding references and appendices. In the submission form, please submit one document for the main paper, containing the list of references, and optionally submit another document containing all appendices. Do not submit more than two documents.
  3. Papers can be in any present state of revision, as long as it has not been accepted to any journals.
  4. The submitting author, should the paper be accepted to the workshop, will be the presenter.
  5. Each submitting author is entitled to a maximum of one submission, though it is permissible for the submitting author to be a co-author (but not the submitting author) of another submission.
  6. The submitting author must currently be holding an appointment in an academic institution or research centre that is either non-tenured, or strictly less senior than an Associate Professor or equivalent. The submitting author is required to state their appointment clearly on the submission form. If the employment conditions of the submitting author are ambiguous, please leave an explanation in the “Clarifications on designation” section in the submission form for deliberation by the Review Committee.
  7. There are no restrictions on the designations of co-authors of the submitted paper.
  8. Submissions should ideally be related to one of the three themes or tracks in the workshop. The three themes are (A) Supply Chain Management, (B) Optimization, and (C) Service Operations. In the submission form, indicate clearly the ranking of the themes to which the paper most closely relates.
  9. A total of 6 papers per theme will be accepted. A Review Committee will deliberate on the acceptance of the papers to the themes. Accepted presenters will be informed no later than Mid-April, 2025.
  10. Papers submitted for this workshop can be the same paper submitted to the MSOM conference, however, priority will be given to papers that are different from the MSOM submission. Submitting authors should indicate clearly on the form if their submission is the same as that for the MSOM conference.
  11. Submitting authors of papers that are not accepted for the workshop will be extended an invitation to participate in the workshop as a participant.

Scientific Review Process

The Review Committee will pre-select a shortlist of papers from all submissions according to each of the themes for further review. Out of the shortlist, the papers will be sent to anonymous reviewers for assessment on three criteria, namely the paper’s novelty, significance and rigour. The Review Committee will then make the final call on the six papers accepted for each of the themes. Accepted papers will be grouped together with papers of similar topics into the same sessions to facilitate discussion by our Discussants.
