Durham Early Career Scholars Professional Development Workshop: Operations and Analytics
Durham University Business School (Waterside Building), UK
June 25-26, 2025
Welcome to the Durham Early Career Scholars Professional Development Workshop: Operations and Analytics (PDW), hosted by Durham University Business School on June 25–26, 2025. This operations and analytics themed workshop is primarily targeted at early career scholars (e.g., assistant professors, postdocs and PhD students), with a specific focus on research and career development. Set in the historic and world heritage city Durham, this event promises a stimulating environment for development and networking with peers and experts in the field. We look forward to seeing you soon in Durham!
We plan to host three parallel discussion sessions focused on Supply Chain Management, Optimization, and Service Operations, each led by top journal editors. These sessions will provide early career scholars with personalized feedback on their presented papers and offer insights into the journal review process. Additionally, we will organize a panel discussion addressing key topics relevant to early career scholars, including grant application strategies, PhD supervision, time management, and navigating academic service responsibilities during the junior stages of their careers.
Call For Papers
The aim of this PDW is to collect high quality and innovative research to be presented and discussed during the workshop. On behalf of the organizing committee, we invite you to submit papers to this conference. Acceptance decisions will be based on full paper submissions. We are seeking high-quality papers to be presented at the workshop. Submissions may be analytical, empirical, theoretical, methodological, or applied, and should address topics within the broad areas of Supply Chain Management, Optimization, or Service Operations. Each participant can present only one paper during the event.
